2010 Week 16 Recap

2010 Season -- Week 16 -- December 30, 2010 -- Back to TSL History

First and foremost, a BIG congraulations goes out to RikOwens for claiming $1,060 and being The Smartest Loser for 2010!! He outlasted a very fierce competitor in Campe80 to claim the largest prize ever!  In the first-ever Second Chance pool, MileHi was the last TSL warrior standing after a quick seven week battle with 17 other players.  The Vikings came to play against the high-flying Eagles, eliminating our last player leaving MileHi as champ.

                                                           Congratulations RikOwens and MileHI!!!!!!!!

Playoffs? You wanna talk about playoffs?!

With only one game remaining in the regular season, nine teams have punched their ticket to a playoff game. There are three spots left to fill, and believe it or not, the atrocious NFC West is still up for grabs. *barf* That dispicable division will be decided when St. Louis visits Seattle on Sunday. It's hard to believe, but if Seattle wins, they will win the division and host a playoff game with a less-than-.500 record (7-9). How is that even possible?! Regardless who wins that division, they will be an underdog to whoever they host and likely won't make it to Round 2.

The AFC South is also up for grabs between the resurgent Colts and Jaguars. Indy holds a one-game lead over the Jags as they are both heading in opposite directions (Jags on a 2 game skid while the Colts have won 3 straight). If Indy wins, they're in. But if the Jags win, the teams will be tied, but Jacksonville will win via tie-breaker due to their superior division record.

The Wild Card spots in the AFC have been clinched, but with Pittsburgh and Baltimore being tied going into Week 17, Baltimore will need a win and a Pitt loss to claim the AFC North crown and a first round bye. Big Ben and the Steelers can create their own destiny. If they win, they clinch the #2 seed and get to watch the games during the Wildcard Weekend.

THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT!!! The playoff push baby!!!!

Week 17 Preview

Only a few playoff spots are left to be decided. Teams that are still in the hunt for the final three spots are: Indianapolis, Jacksonville, St. Louis, Seattle, Green Bay, and New York Giants.

Commish's Playoff Predictions: The final three spots will be claimed by Indianapolis, St. Louis and New York Giants.

With a tough matchup against Da Bears, Green Bay will fall, leaving the door wide open for the G-Men to skin the 'Skins and claim the final Wild Card spot. Tom Coughlin's job may depend on their making the playoffs.

Take it to the bank. I'm willing to bet your money on it.
